Lawrenceville tuition and financial aid, 2026-27

What Lawrenceville publishes about tuition, need-based aid, the January 15 aid deadline and payment options.

Families often rule a school out on tuition before they have read how financial aid works. This guide sticks to what Lawrenceville publishes for 2026-27 and what it says about the aid process. It does not predict an award for any family.

What Lawrenceville publishes for tuition

Comprehensive tuition for 2026-27 is $82,710 for boarding students and $68,060 for day students. Fifth Form families pay a $525 fee for events and activities that year, proportional to the family's financial aid package. International students must buy health insurance through Lawrenceville: $2,895 for a 12-month plan or $2,595 for a 10-month plan. Our tuition and aid page lists the same figures with sources.

How need-based aid works

Lawrenceville offers financial aid to domestic applicants through need-based grants. It says more than 30% of its current families receive need-based grants, and that it meets 100% of a family's demonstrated need. The grants do not need to be repaid. Packages can include up to the full cost of attendance, including one Harkness Travel Experience.

Lawrenceville also says that applying for financial aid has no bearing on the admission decision.

The process and the deadline

  • The financial aid application goes in at the same time as the application for admission.
  • Lawrenceville requires an application and documents from both parents.
  • The deadline is January 15, or December 15 for returning families.

Because the aid application is due with the admission application, start gathering documents in the fall rather than in January. The key dates page shows both deadlines in one place.

Average awards, as a reference

For 2026-27, Lawrenceville published the average aid award and average cost to the family by income band. The average award was $72,697 for families under $125k (average cost to the family $5,574), $69,960 for $125k to $200k ($8,154), $61,359 for $200k to $275k ($14,392), $52,351 for $275k to $350k ($25,671), $39,577 for $350k to $425k ($38,250) and $41,054 for families over $425k ($37,347). Lawrenceville says to use this as a reference only.

Payment options

Families can pay tuition in full on or before June 1, in two installments (60% on June 1 plus the tuition refund insurance premium, and the balance on November 1), or monthly from June 1 through February 1.

Where to ask

The Admission Office is at admission@lawrenceville.org or (609) 895-2030. The Financial Aid Office is at (609) 895-2199. For aid questions, use that phone number or ask the Admission Office who to write to.

What this guide does not cover

Lawrenceville's pages we reviewed do not publish the 2027-28 tuition. Treat the 2026-27 figures as the latest available and confirm the current amount before you budget. For the rest of the process, see the application overview and the parent FAQ.
