The Lawrenceville School is a boarding and day school in Lawrenceville, New Jersey, for Grades 9 through 12 plus a postgraduate year. This guide covers Lawrenceville's published dates in the order families meet them, read as the fall 2027 entry cycle. Lawrenceville's pages list most dates without a year, so the years below are our inference from the current cycle. Confirm each one with the Admission Office before you plan around it.
Start with the inquiry and Part 1
Lawrenceville says the admission process starts with an inquiry form. Families then apply through the Gateway to Prep Schools application, which begins with the Candidate Profile (Part 1). This matters for timing: campus visits that begin in September are limited to families who have submitted Part 1.
Interviews
- Interviews begin: September.
- Day student interviews: available until November 13, 2026.
- Boarding student interviews: can be completed any time before the January 15 application deadline.
Lawrenceville describes the interview as a conversation that runs in both directions. It says visiting in person and meeting online carry exactly the same weight, and that interviewing early carries no weight in the decision. International applicants attending school abroad can also interview online through Vericant.
Testing
Second Form (9th grade) applicants must submit SSAT or ISEE scores taken on or after June. Third Form (10th grade) applicants can send SSAT, ISEE, PSAT, SAT or ACT scores taken on or after June. Book a test date early enough to allow for a retake. Our preparation guide walks through the testing rules.
The deadline
- January 15: the application deadline. Lawrenceville says the financial aid deadline is also January 15, or December 15 for returning families.
- March 10: decisions are announced on the Admission Portal.
- April 10: families confirm their enrollment.
Admitted students and families are then invited back to campus in March and April for Discovery Days.
A working order
- Send the inquiry and submit Part 1 of the Gateway application.
- Book the SSAT or ISEE and the interview.
- Draft the essays and ask for the three recommendations.
- Submit everything, including any financial aid application, by January 15.
See the full key dates page, the application overview and the parent FAQ for the sourced details.
What is not published
Lawrenceville's pages we reviewed do not state the date the application opens, the number of seats, or an admit rate. We do not guess at those. If a date matters to your plan, write to the Admission Office at admission@lawrenceville.org.
